In 2005, Kara Nadeau Della Vecchia founded KDV Communications, Inc. to offer healthcare companies and organizations strategic, results-oriented communications support that is delivered with integrity, reliability and efficiency. Della Vecchia brings 15 years of experience to her practice, having served medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers, healthcare facilities, software and service providers, non-profit organizations and industry associations.
During her career, she has launched emerging companies into the spotlight in the face of well-established competitors, repositioned leaders as innovators in their fields, maintained positive media exposure in the midst of crisis situations, and cultivated credible and vocal customer advocates driving market momentum for clients and their products.
Before founding KDV Communications, Della Vecchia served as a senior member of the life sciences and technology teams at Mullen Advertising and Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications, two of Boston’s leading communications agencies. In these roles, she oversaw day-to-day program implementation for a broad range of healthcare clients. Previously, Della Vecchia was public relations manager for Prevent Blindness Massachusetts, leading a statewide communications campaign to support the organization’s mission of preventing blindness and saving sight.
Della Vecchia’s current and past clients include GHX (Global Healthcare Exchange), GlySure Limited, Microline Surgical, Starion Instruments, Easter Seals Massachusetts, Sparta Systems, the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC), Agion Technologies (now Sciessent LLC), VasoNova, Caritas Christi Healthcare (now Steward Health Care), Nellcor, Puritan Bennett, B. In 2013, Della Vecchia was appointed associate features editor for Healthcare Purchasing News magazine, covering topics related to the operating room (OR), central sterile (CS) and sterile processing and distribution (SPD) departments. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Hartford.
